It might be cold outside but it's about to get hotter than New Delhi in July at the Atrium when Lincoln Center favorite DJ Rekha, an internationally recognized pioneer in the sonic art of live mixing Bollywood hits with contemporary electronic music, takes the turntables for the best Bhangra dance party in Manhattan. If you're new to Indian dance, no worries: Minila Shah, the founder of the New York City-based woman and minority owned performing arts organization Ajna Dance Company, will be on hand to teach you all the basics. After the lesson, the company will take the lead on the dance floor. Experience the grace, thrill, freedom and fun of Bhangra firsthand for an all-ages appropriate New Year's celebration that will kick your New Year off in style!
This event is FREE and open to the public. Seating and entry are first-come, first-served; the line will form at the Atrium’s entrance on Broadway, between 62nd and 63rd Street.
