Pyar Baile (DJ Rekha and Dave Sharma feat Zuzuka Poderosa & Meetu Chilana)

Inspired by our trip to Brazil, Dave Sharma and I wanted recreate the energy of Baile Funk, a genre of electronic music sourced from 1980s drum machines and Miami Bass. We repurposed the Bollywood film track, "Pyar Karne Wale" (Those Who Love) from the blockbuster Shaan (Pride). Lyrics from the chorus of the original song say "we love with pride, we win with pride, we die with pride." I added the line "we dance with pride." The Portuguese rap is voiced by Zuzuka Poderosa and the Hindi vocals are sung by Meetu Chilana. Our aim was to mix Baile Funk and Bollywood and create a booty-shaking bass dancefloor scorcher that transcends genre.
